OK, so you've decided to never visit the Space Needle? Ever? OK, then.

Yeah, isn't that kind of ridiculous? To not want to visit for that reason. Besides, the Space Needle doesn't even offer the best view of Seattle. I give that to the Columbia Tower.

In terms of geographic time, two in a hundred years is frequent. In human time? Not so much. That's not the point really anyway, the point is that people who don't live in CA seem to think there are major earthquakes (/floods/mudslides/fires) here every week. Whereas the truth is that you can live to be a hundred years old in CA and not be seriously affected by any of the above.

Well then, never, ever visit it again in your life. Earthquakes have this nasty habit of arriving unannounced.

Actually, I've been up in the Space Needle and my friends and I have even eaten dinner in the revolving restaurant and gone out on the walkway. For the amount of money, I don't think it was worth it and I probably won't go up there again.

That, and we have learned that we should add "Dying in an earthquake while up in the Space Needle" to our collective list of worries. No need to press one's luck, yes?

IIRC the restaurant has a reputation for mediocre food.

At least earthquakes are quick. They're very catastrophic when they're high enough on the Richter Scale, but it's over quick. One bad thing about them is that they are unpredictable, so you can't prepare for the hit.

But I would much rather live in earthquake country and in Tornado Alley. Tornados are more predictable but they still "jump", and they tend to occur a lot more often.

To me the Katrina catastrophe was the WORST!
