Hey, I am planning to move California sometime during the late 2010's and early 2020's and I want to know from your guys standpoints what are the best industries to look for work? The less competitive the better! Jobs that pay enough to afford the basic needs of survival (food, clothing, as possible etc.) extra comforts (video games, nice clothes, a gym membership etc.) and pay for rent with the least debt troubles possible. I am hoping to move to either the Bay Area, Santa Cruz, Monterrey, San Luis obispo, LA-Riverside or San Bernardino Counties. I'm in college working on my business degree right now and I plan on graduating in 2017. I also am planning to study the Chinese and Arabic languages during my college time. The main reasons I want to move to California are for the weather, culture, more left leaning politics, I hear there is a live and let live vibe throughout a lot of the state, and I just want a different experience from where I am now in the South. Lastly how is the dating scene in the state for homosexual African-Americans?

Please lets all try to get along, thank you and I apologize for any typos or grammatical errors.

Government jobs at all level city, county, state, federal are the best if you want job security and a gold plated pension. As long as there are business owners, home owners, and working people to tax, there is no worry about raises, job security, and a great pension.

I'd see government as a possiblity, but what about the layoffs that happened years ago, and also if there were to be a government shut down?

What if a person went to work for a company and then there were layoffs or a recession hit and the company failed?
