Hi everyone

So, in the freezing cold of new york i've been starting to think about where i want to move next... i came from LA to NY and i must say, i think NY is a much better city and more fun, but it's just too damn cold! Also i need to be able to kitesurf 10+days a month at the least which i'm not able to do when it's so cold! So i wanna move back to california but headed more northwards... pismo beach and above...

I'm a graphic designer working for VH1 and MTV so i get paid pretty good, but i'm still young and working my way up the ladder so if i move again i don't see myself earning more than 50k/year...

So here's, in my bestest dreams, what i'm looking for:

1. Stepping distance to a beach so i can kitesurf to my hearts content
2. Whole foods and or Trader Joes in the local vicinity!
3. Work possibilities - i would probably be able to work freelance from anywhere, but a steady income would be nice...
4. Good nightlife and community, it doesn't need to be up to standard with NYC but a good one would be nice

ALTERNATIVELY...

How is florida?? I've never been there but it seems like the east coasts california... anyone have any advice as to good options out there?

Where do you think you will be able to find a job?

What do you think your housing budget will be?

Depends.. where in Florida are you looking? I dont know much about Northern Florida, but 50k in South Florida sounds do-able. How much are you looking to spend a month? You could live ocean front in South Beach/Miami Beach for about 1400 - 1500.. less if you can settle for a longer walk to the beach.
