That's true, but how many in one concentrated area? So Cal probably has more Chinese by just having more population. What are we talking population to percent wise?

The "ethnoburbs" of the San Gabriel Valley are percent wise more Asian than San Francisco. Most of them are Chinese:

Monterey Park - 60,000 - 67% Asian
Alhambra - 84,000 - 52% Asian
San Gabriel - 40,000 - 60% Asian
Arcadia - 57,000 - 60% Asian
Temple City - 35,000 - 55% Asian
Rowland Heights - 50,000 - 60% Asian
Diamond Bar - 53,000 - 52% Asian
Walnut - 30,000 - 62% Asian

I know some cities/suburbs in the Bay Area are heavily Asian, but not a bunch clustered together like the San Gabriel Valley suburbs.

Not sure how many people actually watched the video (the L.A. girl is very attractive), but the Bay Area representative said that Bay Area Asians tend to be more into R&B and Hip Hop. Any truth to that?

Yes but I think that could apply to white people too, I think the Bay Area has a more R&B/Hip Hop culture or whatever overall compared to LA/SoCal.

I've also noticed that and that's a very striking difference coming from the East Coast.

True for the most part but exaggerated.

What a bunch of baloney. I liked it better when we were just "Buddhaheads" (no offense intended)...

I will give that most of the Nor. Cal. Asians I know are in tech, many of the ones I know in So. Cal. are "engineers".

The whole thing is meaningless. Notice they don't really count south Asians as "Asians" (except in the food section), not to mention the significant Tibetan presence in each area. Tibetans are into Bollywood for dancing. I don't know about Indians and Pakistanis, but I'm pretty sure that hip hop and R & B aren't their thing. Afghans (Iranians, Iraqis, etc.) weren't even mentioned. And what about all the Asians who are over 30?

Another fluff piece bites the dust.

There are Chinese all over the Bay Area and beyond. Not to mention the fact that a lot of SF's Chinese don't live in Chinatown. Hello? Do you know any real, live Chinese? Suggesting they all live in Chinatown is outrageous. Ever been to the Richmond district?

Have you ever been to the San Gabriel Valley? There are more Chinese there than in all of San Francisco - Sunset, Richmond, Chinatown - whatever. And as far as "beyond" goes they're all over the LA metro area as well (San Fernando Valley, Orange County, etc...). No one's discounting the Asian and Chinese presence in the Bay Area, but the LA Metro Area has been receiving lots of them for several decades.
