Hi,

I was just curious if there are any restaurants or row of restaurants that have a themed feeling to them or have a cartoony magical feel like restaurants at Disneyland.

Nearby I know that Huckleberry's in Pismo Beach has a very New Orleans feel in the restaurant in it's design, menu, and music. I like it alot.

Another one I'm thinking of is Bubba Gump's in Monterey and I almost felt like on Fisherman's Wharf there must have been more restaurants like that.

I am wondering if I have missed some hidden gem of a restaurants from Monterey to Santa Barbara. Even maybe in Ventura area.

I am planning a trip for my birthday and I'd like to find a place closer than actually driving into Orange County and through traffic to just shop and dine at Downtown Disney. I've been to Disneyland, OC beaches, and to places down there and don't have the money for a long trip when you only two days off work to do a trip.

Thanks,

the city

I like Roy's in Pebble Beach especially when the bagpiper is playing. It's a good place for a date.

Solvang is fun for the Scandinavian food and feel. We usually go for the bakeries which our kids enjoy.

Solvang is great, but the last time I was there, as a teen, it was mobbed with tourists. I don't think I'd be able to enjoy it as an adult, because of the crowds and the traffic.

Yeah, its best on a weekday, similar to other popular places/attractions. I loved it as a kid and now it's fun to watch our kids enjoy it as well. Some days are much more crowded than others. We usually stop by for lunch and pastries on the way home from SoCal.

Yeah Solvang is fun. I haven't been to any restaurants there that have the vibe I'm looking for though.

Nepenthe in Big Sur is pretty fun. It's main attraction and magic is the beautiful view and location. Though it's not really themed inside like what you've described (e.g. Bubba Gumps).
