I too agree with the OP.

I found the food there, underwhelming. It is not worth the wait.

Yet another place in California that is trendy and OVERRATED.

To me it makes sense .

Their quality is much higher than competitors and their price is considerably lower.

Combo / "Value" meals these days at a lot of the chain places seem to be close to $10.

I recently paid like $9.50 for a mediocre chicken sandwich, fries that were barely warm and a small amount of them, and a coke that was mostly ice and a few sips of soda. Not a great value at all, and it actually felt more like a rip off.

Trendy?...not sure about that. IN N OUT has been around since 1948, that's a lot time to be trendy.

Also OP many famous chefs love IN N OUT...but I guess they don't know as much about food as you do.

From the IN N OUT wiki page.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In-N-Out_Burger
The chain also has fans in a number of renowned chefs including Gordon Ramsay, Thomas Keller, Julia Child, Anthony Bourdain, and Mario Batali.[19] Famous London chef/restaurateur Gordon Ramsay ate In-N-Out for the first time when taping Hell's Kitchen in Los Angeles, and it soon became one of his favorite spots for take-out.[50] Ramsay was quoted, saying about the experience: "In-N-Out burgers were extraordinary. I was so bad, I sat in the restaurant, had my double cheeseburger then minutes later I drove back round and got the same thing again to take away.

Troll post that attracts a bunch of people to hate on In-N-Out.

The post is predictable and boring.

In-N-Out has survived and thrived and will continue to do so as long as they keep their winning formula.

Their food is better than most for the price and they treat their employees better than anyone in the industry.

The company is worth billions.

They are like anti-hype, they are tried and true. People like them because they serve a great product for the price.

How can any fast food burger be good? So greasy! If you want a good burger, go to an independently-owned restaurant, i.e. a "real" restaurant.

This is why I gave up fast food a decade ago. Watching that documentary Supersize Me, plus a friend's constant nagging, helped me to dump the fast food habit for good. I might eat fast food once a year if I'm on a road trip, but that's about it. The real cost of eating fast food is much higher than the price you pay at the restaurant.

FYI that movie is BS. None of the math adds up and the filmmakers refuse to release any sort of notes or footage that would make the math add up. It's hyperbole passed off as a documentary documenting the obvious. Highly processed fast food that's full of artificial crap is not good for you, but neither is misinformation.

Why would anyone start a thread about a damn hamburger place? Get 70/30 ground beef and make your own burger.

You may be right, but it still helped. There were other factors, but it definitely gave me a push toward a healthier diet. Now if I can just give up soda
