We are moving from midwest to california this month end. My son is going to be in third grade and his school is supposed to start on Aug 17th. So he will have to miss 2 weeks. How many days a child can miss in elementary is there any upper limit ? Thanks

Perhaps you should contact the school district he is going to be in and discuss this situation with them.

My kids better be dying before they miss school. LOL..

Not your situation but not what I expected when I read your post.

Call the district and fill them in on your situation.

I don't think that missing two weeks prior to you moving over will count towards any absences. I believe your child's absences won't start counting until after he actually starts attending.
