I will be going to EDM raves.

I want to know the average cost of living per week. And how safe the place is. I'm scared of guns. Also things like travel. What should I travel by, bus, trains or cab?

I do like to keep myself and don't go looking for trouble. Can I bring my laptop with me to the US? Do I need phone credit? How much spending money should I bring?

General tips and advice is very much appreciated on anything else you think's worth mentioning.

Thanks for reading.

Cool, have fun.

Cost of living per week, how? A solid G should cover it.

LA is absolutely crazy, safe is only for the rich. The only guns you'll see will be on cops and gangbangers, no scary rednecks to worry about though.

You should travel by car.

You can bring your laptop with you, I don't know if your plug will work in our outlets though.

What is "phone credit"? Contact your phone company and ask. It might not work otherwise.

All this being said, head to Santa Monica (double your COL) and give a pip pip cherrio to all the other Brits there.

No. Me and all my friends are far from rich, and feel completely safe, nothing has ever happened to any of us. I've never seen a gangbanger WITH a gun.

Yeah. What kind of area are you interested in living in?

Quiet. Somewhere where people don't show off their body. No rushing. Safe and cheap. And place where there are nice people and white american girls.

Well just keep in mind, SoCal isn't rural Iowa. SoCal is a big, diverse, heavily populated region with people of all sorts of different backgrounds and temperaments. Also, you like to go to EDM raves but don't like people showing off their bodies?? That's a bit odd isn't it? Regardless- if you're in LA, expect to see some weird stuff... especially near the touristy areas, there are all sorts of interesting characters. No different than London, however.
