Hicksville, red neck, unworldly, un cultured, negatively tight knit and flat out UGLY.

I'll put on my teflon vest for all the comments hurled at me but that doesn't change how it is.

I actually think the city has some great neighborhoods, tree lined streets. It has really good bones, its just some rough people!

I think Silva is a pretty good representation of Stockton. The city where the mayor (allegedly) plays strip poker with drunken minors at youth camps =D Honestly, the audio is pretty damning even if you take him at his word that everyone hanging out in his bedroom was over 18.

Yes, it does some nice tree lined street neighborhoods, even some Victorians. I was born there.....but, I have not lived there in 40+ years. The crime rate in that city is rather high and there is a fair amount of blight and that is reflected in the relatively low cost of housing, either to buy or rent.....taking into account Stockton's proximity to the Bay Area. The main campus of the oldest chartered university in California is located in Stockton....UOP. Delta Jr College is located there also. Haggin Museum is located there
