The rest of the stuff is simply temporary while you save a little money before going back to school. So, I wouldn't worry so much about the whole SoCal vs. Central Ca thing. SoCal itself is a very large place with many sub cultures within it. You'll find rude/nicer ppl there along with many other types just as we do here along the Central Coast. The biggest difference I've noticed, 'general speaking,' is that it is more laid back up here. That is, until you move further north into the more densely populated regions such as San Jose and SF. I think it has more to do with the population density overall. You're experience similar things in other largely populated regions/metro areas throughout the country (East Coast, West Coast, Midwest, etc...).

Take care,

Derek
The only customers that were extremely rude in SoCal were the ones with the most money. I even got a bit of taste of what Bev. Hills customers are like and OH GEESH they are rude as they say.

I went to City Walk today and found Universal Studios to be boring and not as fun and welcoming as Disneyland. However, I realize one doesn't need Disneyland to get that "magical experience" all the time. Disney cruises and the Disney store offer the magic too! And those two are found in NorCal and SoCal.

I am also realizing I probably like NorCal, except close to San Fran, better because it's not as crowded as Los Angeles and it's suburbs. Not to mention, being back in the SF Valley today I realized outside of West LA and downtown LA, the rest of LA city isn't that nice. And to be honest, except for Dodger's stadium, I don't care for downtown LA.

Have you even explored all of DTLA? Dodger Stadium is not in Downtown. It's not far from Downtown, but it's not there.

So you've learned a lesson, I hope? Moving somewhere to be close to a theme park is not a wise thing to do. I'm one of the biggest Disney/Disneyland fans out there, probably an even bigger fan than yourself, but I would never make the decision to move solely based on my devotion to Disneyland. That's not a mature thing to do.

Well what does one consider to be downtown LA? There is all of the ethnic neighborhoods like Little Tokyo, Chinatown, Olivera St, etc...

I looked on meetups.com and most of the ppl who go to disneyland alot DO live within like an hour or less of the theme park. I think ppl in Ventura County live here for cheaper living, suburbia, and the beach.

If it wasn't for the rude people on the road and the rude customers I get at work, then I wouldn't be so burned out by living here. The warm winter doesn't help either.

Yes, there are districts and neighborhoods, but Dodger Stadium's location is not considered Downtown.

I never said people don't live close to Disneyland. That's obviously not true. I said it's not wise to pack up your bags and relocate somewhere solely for the purpose of being nearby a theme park.

Southern California is massive, and I can tell you haven't explored all of it. If you did, you'd know it snows here. Did you know that? All you need to do is take a drive and you'll find snow and cold temperatures in Southern California. Prime example, Lancaster is just a little over an hour south of Los Angeles, and it was 28 degrees last night. And I've visited my family there during a time when it was snowing.

I don't want to come off rude, but your disappointment just goes to show you did little research and your reason for moving was poor and immature. It sounds like you'll be moving back up North. Should you decide to move again, do some research, ask questions, VISIT, and don't base your choice on love for a theme park, a fantasy.

This is what I'm thinking.
