Default Looking to move near Heavenly

I have never been to CA and am looking to move to a city near Heavenly. I love to snowboard and want to be no further than an hour from the mountain. I also bartend and need to be in a city where its profitable to do so. Any help with a good place to move to would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Go for South Lake Tahoe South Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce: Living and Working in Lake Tahoe. That's as close to Heavenly as you can get. South Lake Tahoe and the casinos on the Nevada side cater to the tourists.

Also check out Truckee. Reno and Carson City are not too far away, however winter road conditions may slow down the trip to Heavenly.

I think you'll find Tahoe expensive to live in compared to other ski resort areas. Kirkwood and Bear Valley are great mountains to ride, and much more affordable places to live.

A different thought, look at Dodge Ridge
A lot of very affordable housing nearby. A very active folk music community, a lot of live music in the pubs. It will not be that close to the beach as your other threads show the need. My wife worked at Dodge Ridge, you get a season pass when you work there. She lived down the hill in Sonora.
