I live in Glendora... south of Route 66. While my area is a bit run down (many of the houses near my complex have chain link fences around them) I have never heard a gun shot here, ever. Even the tagging is minimal. The worst parts of the city are southwest (south of Route 66, west of Glendora Avenue) and the area near the railroad tracks in central/east Glendora (from Glendora to a little past Loraine). Southeast (where I live) is okay mainly because of the hills (which I'm on the other side of). There aren't any gangs here so you're safe anywhere pretty much.

I owned a biz in Glendora and do own a house there. My kids go to Glendora schools presently. Its not bad. Decent school just be careful and stay away from the schools that border AZUSA(City), they have the worse test scores in the district. LeFetra is better than Stanton (elementary schools). Theres only ONE high school so thats not an option. Stanton is good Goddard is better(middle school)I would also suggest you take a hard look at Sam Dimas, just south, better city government and community. A bit smaller city, cleaner and less tagging, slightly better schools. Siminlar in price. Via Verde is a great area but most of San Dimas is great.

It also happens to be where I live until next summer. have been here for the last 15 years adn was in Glendora before that. Fell free to PM if you need anything specific about the area, I know it very well.

If you have a job in Glendora, consider living in Claremont. It is a fabulous city to live in - best in the area in my opinion - and a very short drive to Glendora. Claremont has excellent schools, low crime, lots of character, charming downtown, college town feel, and even a couple hiking trails.

That said some people do like Glendora better, in fact it even has higher housing costs because of it. But IMO Glendora is way more bland. I also agree with the above poster, San Dimas is worth a look too.

Default Glendora

I grew up in Glendora and love it so much, I still own my parents home and use it as a rental. It has built up, but still has the small town feel. Most of the parents I talk to in the neighborhood are very happy with the school district.
By the way, my house if available, if you want to rent before you buy. 3 bedroom 2 bath!! It is in Northern Glendora!
If nothing more, you will certainly enjoy the climate.
