The $15 Minimum Wage Will Kill Jobs. Should You Care? - Bloomberg
Why did you only quote that part of your link? Did you even read this?

"In 2014, were advocating raising the floor to $10.10 an hour by this year. That's a far cry from $15.

Now you tell me WHERE is the minimum wage rising to $15 an hour next year because that is what the author of the article is insinuating. In California the minimum wage will be $10.50 in 2017, it won't reach $15 an hour for 6 years.

But that doesn't address the moral question of whether government forcing the issue is right or wrong. Sure, it's legal....sailed through the legislature, Moonbeam signed it, and everyone will have to abide by it...but whether a business can afford the increase or not isn't the point. Neither is what is happening in other markets. The moral issue of whether government should be butting into this issue at all is the point. A difference of opinion on the shape of the moral question...you, Elliot, and sleepy are on one side, and others among us are on the other side. Likely any of us will change our views on this particular subject?....I doubt it.

And some are on both sides.

It may weed out some people/places for sure, but seeing as how it's going to take 6-7 years to get to $15 it's hard to say what impact it will have. We may even see some adjustments and exceptions before then. If I've learned anything in life it's that there are always loopholes.

Somebody is actually trying to argue that setting a minimum wage is...immoral.

FFS. Morality is even unnecessary to the calculus of the 13th Amendment. Of course, when they lost the politial and cultural battles that ultimately yielded child labor laws, those people resorted to their own sense of "morality" as well.
Nothing new here.

At that slow a rate it will change little and help ........... no one. Why are we not hearing the Governor say that the $15.00 minimum wage is an illusion for several years? Humm, maybe because it is an election year and they are trying to stack the deck without really doing anything?

Good to hear. I'd imagine then we won't be seeing anything of you all in the future? You'll all stop coming here in droves?
