Hi, all. I've been browsing through the forums since I have many job offers from various city/state. The one I am thinking about the most in accepting is located in Travis AFB.
What's a good city/zip code to live within 45 mins from the base?
I have been to LA but moved to texas when I was a kid and now I am in Louisiana so I am used to rural/suburbs. Hoping to get that kind of feel somewhere out there.
Main concern is safety as I am an active person and so is my fiance and she likes to run/walk everyday outside with the dog for miles.
Maximum price range is 250k for buying(impossible?) and I don't mind living in the middle of nowhere(actually prefer it) but it's hard turning down a job offer this good.

I was thinking Davis may be a good choice if you can handle the commute.
Slim pickin's out there.
Here's an old thread that may be helpful.
There may be more but it's the first one i found but i was specifically looking for one that had both Travis AFB and Davis in it.

Davis to Travis AFB???

And it's too late for you to change the title of your thread but i think a moderator might be able to do it for you.
The title says, "Travel AFB".
You may get more replies if you change it. I initially skipped right over the thread.

The only place you will be able to buy a house for 250k would be in a crappy part of Vallejo or Fairfield. You might look at condos in Vacaville or Dixon, other than that I can't think of anything..but here check for yourself, here's a redfin map of properties under 250k in the area, there's not much.

Sorry, i didn't read that you wanted to buy a home for 250K or that you prefered to be in a more remote place.
