Ripon, CA
Hello everyone,
We are thinking of relocating to Ripon. Is it a good area? I have 3 children. Hows the growth outlook looking, residental and commercial?
Any info greatly appreciated.

I live just south of Ripon. It's a nice small town and it is near other larger cities so you have access to shopping, hospitals etc. There are a lot of churches in Ripon. It is surrounded by farm land.
That's all I can think of right now.

Thanks for your help Sarah . I was looking towards Ripon or Tracy, because of the Private schools in the area and the small town feel.
Thanks again!

Onager, why do you say no to Tracy? isn't there a private elementary school there?

In my opinion, Tracy has lost the small town feel. I lived there briefly, in 1984 and my kids went to St. Bernard's school. Since then, Tracy has caught the brunt of the 90's dotcom boom. The population exploded with overflow from the Bay area. The commuter traffic on 205 is unbelievable. Ripon, despite lying on 99, still has a rural air about it.

I completely agree with this statement. Just in the last 4 years Tracy has changed. gangs and crime are increasing more and more everyday. Ripon is close to bigger cities but still has a small town feel to it.

How would you compare Ripon to Turlock? Are they fairly similiar? And if one is better than the other can you explain why?
