Currently the program is far from adequate for most people and lots of people (especially women) are forced to quit their jobs or simply not get children because of the weak paid family and medical leave program. Is it time to expand it to something like 30 or 36 weeks? It should also be good for many businesses who can retain their employees and high quality workers will be more attracted to moving to CA where "family values" mean proper life-work balance.

Sure all the companies in CA have so much extra money they can easily pay it.

Wait they will just raise prices and you will pay it.

I really don't see the purpose of the original post. Nothing is going to get decided on this forum, it's alll opinion, and it's just going to be a slug-fest in the end.

Shouldn't this get moved to a 'politics' thread? (Changing the law is going to boil down to politics)

I wouldn't consider someone focused on out of control breeding a "quality worker". If you want a herd maybe you should be self employed.

As suggested my another poster, this may not be the best place for you to post this.
This link may be of useful reading to you. I don't have a opinion either way on the issue expressed in your posting
