Default Need advice for living/investing in Brawley, Calif.

Does anyone can give me some advice regarding Brawley, Calif.? Pros & Cons?

Is it a nice town to raise the family and purchase real estate there?

Really appreciate it!

I just moved to Brawley in August of this year. It is beautiful when you can see the mountains. As far as family, not sure yet. The crime rate isn't the best and there are some really ugly, parts of town. I have a 5 month old son, his father and I have already decided that we will not be letting him go to school here. We will be moving before then. As far as right now, it's not to bad, because we live in a nice apartment complex. On my way home from work the other day though, there was a man hitting a "pipe" on the side of the road. That made me real nervous. ANd there are a lot of Bums. I hope this helps you!!!

Wow, how'd you end up in Brawley?

The Salton Sea is a mecca for bird watching, if anybody besides me is interested in that. Brawley's the biggest town in that area.

It's very hot in the summer, and when the wind blows just right, you get that awful stench from the Salton Sea. Lots of Meth heads too. But as Holla said, I'm sure there are some nice parts.....somewhere.
