Funny how news reporting can be characterized as far right conservative. Would you care to give an example of a news source that is far left? Or is there no such thing?

Of course there's such a thing. I think the point is that sources which adhere to a particular narrow paradigm are probably not the best places to get objective commentary on social phenomenons.

Narrow paradigm, you mean like the New York Times or would you object to my calling them far left. I'll go further and say that most every major metropolitan newspaper in the country is left to far left in their approach. Most deny it and try to hide it, but their slant is obvious to those who take the time to investigate the truth behind their news "stories". How do you think ideas like global warming have been spread so succussfully? But we are getting off subject.

I made no statements regarding the site's political slant, however after having spent some time reading through some other content on WND, I do not believe this is a credible news source.

Not really. The article posted was from a news source with about as much credibility as your average blog. So I think it's pretty important that people realize that they are essentially reading an opinion piece, and one with a very strong bias at that. A "news organization" willing to publish an article that states that "tofu makes boys gay" is going to be seen as dubious in it's quality by many people.

If the rich leave California, prices will come down and the natives can afford to move back--Sounds good to me.

Who do you work for? I've never worked for a poor person. Do you aspire to make a certain amount of money and no more? This is total crap that too many people subscribe to, until they achieve some form of success and notice how much the government is taking from them.

Primarily from centers of higher learning. From people who actually study the stuff. But of course, they are just all conspirators who need money for grants, right?

You think I'm a leftist, don't you? Because I dared to insinuate that this "news" source is garbage? No, I think it, and many other "news" sources are garbage. You see, you have to actually do your own research if you ever want to base your opinion on any amount of education. And that means taking everything you hear from media sources with a grain of salt. it also means spending less time arguing on the Internet and actually reading, observing, and studying trends.
However, the article does help people become aware of the basic social phenomenon of migration patterns. Where it veers off course is by promoting some idea of how the rich and poor should interact and what needs to happen in order for California to be fiscally sound. The authors--nor the readers I presume--are public policy experts, and it shows.

Agreed. But the taxes can really bite with respect to the stepped up property tax that new home buyers face (as opposed to the annual cap that has kept the property tax of long time homeowners in check). I lived in San Diego for several years but I left when home prices started skyrocketing. I can understand places like SD, LA, and SF being crazy expensive for houses, but I knew I had to leave when I saw home prices jumping through the stratosphere in places like El Centro, Bakersfield, and Modesto.

My problem is that you (and those quoting wikipedia) seem to think that the media can only be biased if it has a conservative right wing slant. There is no such thing as a left wing slant - only the truth. In fact the media and its inherent left wing bias is responsible for drivng most public opinion in our country nowadays and it is sending the counrty entirely in the wrong direction.
As for global warming there is no need to discuss it further. It's a closed isssue. The scientists took a vote and decided that MMGW exists. This is what passes for scientific inquiry these days. And of course the media has promoted the fraud to the fullest.
