Default Moving to Ridgecrest :D

Hi All,

My husband just became employeed in Ridgecrest and we get to move there in January. I have worked in Telecommunications as a Coach/Manager for a while now. I was wondering if anyone new of any companies in Ridgecrest I may want to talk with for new employement oppurtunities in this field. I have to say I was able to visit for a week and the people there are "Very Awesome." I used to live in Colorado and had thought I would never see so many stars in the sky as I did in the Rockies. But in the desert of Ridgecrest I was blown away with how much sky I couldn't see due to all the stars.
Thanks for any help

Hello... I am moving to Ridgecrest also. However, not until June. Moving to be close to my daughter. From what I have researched, I believe I will like the town.

Default Ridgecrest,California

Ridgecrest is a true gem of the desert, spectacular views, clean fresh air, good water, rounded out by awesome people. A great place to live & raise your children or retire to. The real estate is affordable. You can also find employment in town or on the Naval base[China Lake]. We are at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains. A truly beautiful area.

Well you have all convinced me! I was looking at AZ but after looking at real estate prices in Ridgecrest and checked the overall weather, I am rethinking. We will be moving from WI for warmer weather and to be closer to my sister who lives in LA. Ridgecrest sounds perfect. I will be in LA all of March and April. Guess we'll have to take a drive to Ridgecrest.

Ridgecrest is a great community. 2 1/2 hours Northeast of Los Angeles. The city is very family oriented, and folks are very friendly. I'm not sure if you have a job offer near there, I think there's a military post stationed near there. I know Edwards Air Force Base is about forty five minutes away. The city is in the middle of nowhere, it has 24,927 residents as of 2000. Lancaster and Palmdale are about an hour and fifteen minutes away, both cities with populations over 100,000. The dry levels are higher than Arizona, which is a plus. The city has a quarter diversity, with the rest being cacausian. It's still extremely hot in the summer, and has a five month summer like Phoenix. The winter's are low 30's in the middle of the night and low 60's in the afternoon. It's a desert like Phoenix, not much vegetation, and little rain.

I'd suggest installing a pool, it would be very cooling and relaxing in the summer.

My brother-in-law has a swimming pool designing and building business, but I'm not sure if he'd go all the way out to Ridgecrest for a job.

Yes, I think you will like Ridgecrest. It's a small town with clean air, no traffic and lots of great people. People are pretty friendly here and easy to get to know. It's hot in the summer, but it cools down in the evening; summer mornings are nice too.
