Default Hiking

Is there any good hiking near San Luis Obispo? Santa Cruz? I know there are redwood forests near Santa Cruz which might make for some good trails, but I haven't heard too much about SLO. I know there are plenty of great vineyards in SLO, but any forested mountains? I don't need snow caps.
