^ it's hard not to look like you're having a good life because anywhere you look has a mountain or palm tree view. Like somebody else here mentioned, it's like us Californians are on a constant 24/7 vacation. Even just going to the grocerries is more exciting than what the edgest Texan does on a weekend night out in Houston's most hipster hangout spot.

^This. Probably the only state that doesn't envy CA is HI.

It's because you moved on the other side of the continent. There is really much less incentive for them to invest in your friendship.

To be frank if I may, the OP sounds like a spoiled little boy. Get over it will ya? Florida is fine without you. Good luck in super liberal anything-goes Kalefurnya, lol.

Well it's part of the equation, I'm not a jealous person but it's obvious ppl are.

Nah, I'm going to kick it up a notch, seeing ppl from Florida coming on here now and making the typical jealous remarks about CA is giving me the incentive.

Future Trips

-This Spring to Anza-Borrego to get plenty of pics of the wildflowers.
-Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park
-Big Sur

and so on

We both have noticed over the past year, many of our friends slowly not staying in touch, mainly on Facebook we both are active along with other social networks both professional and personal. This was never the case when we were in FL, even our friends from the Northeast would always care about what we did, e-mail and call us, text and etc. We had other friends who moved away, in the network back to the Northeast or Midwest, Texas, or foreign yet did not see any odd behavior.

Seems those who said they would be out to visit, just dropped us and are no longer showing much interest in us or our life here. We both post pictures of our trips around CA, places we go and many are ignoring us when in the past we got postive responses. For me a lot of my ex-coworkers and business partners are also giving me the cold shoulder, many wanted to get in on some propositions and related work but have shut me out.

I read up on this effect, after researching it online. I still do not have any answers, but why do people elsewhere hate CA, people who are from here or who live here? I don't get it? Jealousy or what? I heard it when I lived back East, some people making comments but never really felt that way myself. I had friends that moved here long before me and I never felt that way.
You moved to the complete opposite side of the country, different time zone, expensive to get there, nothing that can be a quick weekend, that's gonna happen. Also, you moved from FL to CA, maybe they think your an America hating Socialist now so can't be bothered.

Humid is subjective, and people that have snow mobiles, go ice fishing, play winter sports etc would consider SoCal hell! Everything is nicer? Says who, you? Cleaner? Like the air that you can see? Don't be naive. There's good and bad everywhere.
