The idea of better care is good, the current plan is not good. A feel good plan but not a viable one. Of course no one in politics has one right now either. Too many special interests involved, except for the people. Do I have an idea and a sorta single payer plan, yes, but it will never occur.

And these were issues that the ACA changed. Apparently most people who are against the ACA do not believe that any of these people should be able to have affordable health insurance.

Frankly, I'm willing to pay for maternity coverage (although I'm long past child bearing age) if that will allow more pregnant women access to health care. The alternative is children born to mothers without medical care during their pregnancies, which, in the long run, will cost all of us far more.

I have no problem with affordable coverage.

Obamacare has done nothing to reduce the cost of healthcare for the vast majority. We already had medical coverage for the poor before Obamacare.

I'm not speaking of people who are eligible for Medi-Cal. I'm referring to people who receive subsidies and those who were formerly denied health insurance for pre-existing conditions, of which there are many.

Your statement is the equivalent of the classic interchange:

Bill: To feed hungry children, I'm going to toss old TV sets into the Grand Canyon.

John: That's a stupid idea.

Bill: What do you have against hungry children?

It is actually worse than that. All those non-productive bureaucrats and administrators have a vested interest in keeping the system bloated. None of them would ever attempt to re-engineer the business processes so as to cut out their own jobs.

And they pay, oops I mean contribute, to the politicians in both parties to keep it that way.

It can't be a bribe that would be illegal. You know how the State hates anything illegal.
