Are there any other counties in eastern NorCal that contain a portion of the Great Basin Desert? Plumas County?
Yes, to the bolded. Not just portions of them, all of them. The easternmost parts of Plumas, Sierra, and Nevada counties are, as well.

So, looking for some high desert, for yourself, are you?

Wow!

I'm just fascinated by desert landscapes and other varieties of terrain in open spaces so much, that's all.

Never been there.

I've only been to Utah, Nevada, and Idaho.

I am not so sure that those counties would be within the great basin, when I look at the map, ( on wikipedia) it is east of the Sierra Nevada, & those counties are west.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Basin_Desert

I live in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada.

All depends on how you define "Great Basin", I guess.

I'll have to go with your definition, Ruth.

After all, one of the two prisons located in Susanville is named "High Desert State Prison."
