You are actually agreeing with me.

If they are not smart enough to carry what they need in coverage, then it should be their loss. They are trying to save a little and have it cost everyone more now.

Yes I like the symbol as it expresses an accurate assessment.

Had you included the Middle Class in high COL coastal cities, you would have been correct.

I'd never agree with your "let them eat cake" attitude about people. Sorry.

You actually believe that people go around planning to put themselves through catastrophic losses?

I'm not surprised.

There is a hole that could trap parents just as their children are racking up big college tuition bills -- one that doesn't appear to be intentional.

I don't think they gave it a lot of thought," said Steve Wamhoff, senior fellow for federal tax policy at the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy.

The GOP tax plan has a nasty surprise for upper-middle-class parents with kids in college:

You are making your own assessment of my words and twisting them in doing so. I said IF they chose not to pay for what they need, it is their fault.

Do you think people who intentionally chose to pay for less coverage than they need should be bailed out?

All such losses are "catastrophic", that is what insurance is for. IN your post it spoke of a kitchen fire that spreads. Well that is catastrophic to the house, but that is what "full" coverage is about. Would you own a home and NOT buy enough insurance for full coverage.

You should not be, as it expresses just what is needed for such posts.

I've mentioned the significance of the loss of the personal exemption several times, it will impact a lot of people including the group you mentioned. And Republicans are spiking the football.. how sad is that?

I already gave you an example of a disaster that cannot be fully covered by insurance and you just blew it off, earthquake insurance..there is a 15% deductible on all claims in earthquake insurance policies. And there are others, like not having flood insurance in an area that has never flooded.

CA4Now was talking about non National Disasters like a one house fire.

All insurance has a deductible and everyone knows that. Earthquakes are rare that do any damage and if you live in an area with Earthquakes .... plan for it or don't buy. It is a choice. Same with flood insurance as no one NEEDS to live in those areas and if they choose to do so, their problem.

"Seriously dude" ...really?

Nope, earthquake insurance always has a deductible, and you don't buy flood insurance unless there is a reasonable risk that a flood will occur in your area. To say otherwise is simply disingenuous
