Central Bakersfield and the Northeast Part seems to have more of the Older Neighborhoods.

The towns of Shafter and Wasco which is nearby also have Nice Older Neighborhoods as well.

So you think central Bakersfield would be okay? I like the older houses better.

Fiddlefeet. I'm sorry you have chosen to move to Bakersfield, surely it is a must for you and not because you want to. Anyways, not trying to be negative, but there is a lot of crime and gangs here. Although, should you stay in the Southwest or Northwest side of town, and not venture too far out, you'll be okay. Some folks you run into here are nice, but generally people here are rude and inconsiderate. I personally think it's just California and I've been here most of my life.

There is a nice apartment complex called "Edgewater" off of Gosford and Kroll way (661) 664.1991. It use to be around $900.00 month for a 2 bedroom. That was around 4 years ago though.

I hope this helps you.
