In response to this tread I present a few more "best lists" Surprise--Surprise. Only one California City makes 50 best cities to live. So either you believe these internet lists or you don't. Can't have it both ways.

I came across a Conde Nast poll that list that listed the 15 best Big Cities and Small cities. On the Big City list CA gets two out of 15. On the Small City list three out of 15. So there to those of you who pay attention to these sort of lists.

So I googled further and the first hits revealed the following.

Best places to live.

How CA cities rate on lists of US cities.

List, three out of 27: https://realestate.usnews.com/real-e...-2017?slide=26

List, Three out of 50. http://www.businessinsider.com/us-ne...anta-georgia-1

List Three out of top ten https://www.niche.com/places-to-live...h/best-cities/

And finally CA mid size cities take 14 spots in the top 100 cities! https://livability.com/best-places/t...ve/2017?page=9

Wrong.

All lists aren't from the same publisher with the same editorial slant, and different polls may have different melodologies, and.....since they are for entertainment....it is unlikely they control for any variables.

People also have differing opinions re which publishers have credibility, and which do not.

As has been pointed out to you before, if you truly felt secure re your opinion.....you wouldn't care if every list had zero cities from California listed or, conversely, if every list was completely filled with California cities......you wouldn't care (as you obviously do, else you wouldn't have created this thread) one whit what others believe.

Depends on the criteria of the list! That list made 100% more sense than most. All seemed to be excellent family friendly places for raising children. Most of the cities on that list were extremely affordable. California loses out big time on any list that uses affordability as an important factor.

These are for travellers, not the best place to actually live in. For example Carmel is a great place to visit but totally unaffordable for 99.9% of the population like this example house.

Any list that puts San Jose number 3 instantly loses all credibility since its not even in the top ten Bay area places to live.

I am going to put together my own best cities list, the 10 best cities for Filipino martial arts in the United States. Stockton is finally going to come in as number 1!

Wait, you're that (non CA resident) fellow who excited about Hoover Alabama as a place to live:

Look at these beautiful homes.

Compare to the typical overpriced pos Bay area house.
