"abuse power and milk the system"? I think you have confused unions with politicians.

California is blue only because of demographics, not because the Democrats are competent at anything, least of all actual governance.

CA has no problem electing perverts and criminals. As long as they have that "D" next to their name. So the quality of a politician isn't even really considered by the average voter. The left just isn't wired that way. (the 2016 election is kind of proof positive of that)

The only way the leftist stranglehold on CA can be broken is if we actually enforce our immigration laws. This will result in all of the illegals being deported (adios!), and most of the legal foreign residents also leaving.

That alone can restore the electorate to something less corruptible.

Very successful presidency in terms of accomplishments whether you or I like his policies or not.

It is precisely correlated that a guy like Bill Clinton, with his narcissism and generalized avarice, could well function, and at a highly effective level, under those pressures. Lack of shame and being impervious to humiliation, as narcissists are, allow them to just keep rolling through mountains of sewage that would stop more moral-feeling people.
Actually, those are the traits of a sociopath, not a narcissist. Even narcissists have a conscience.

Washington and Oregon went through the exact same political changes as CA with less immigration and a whiter population. Safe to say California would be solid blue with less immigration and a whiter populace.
Deporting illegals would not change what party rules California. It would mean some congressional districts would be eliminated, and some of those districts that would be eliminated would be Republican

Oh please...There are 39 million people in California, in 2014 the undocumented population was around 2.35 million and has held steady since then. There are a lot of democrats in California because Californian's are wealthier and better educated than people in some of the flyover states.

2016 Election results sorted by educational attainment

It seems to puzzle Phantompilot that OR and WA went through the same political changes from red to purple to blue that CA did with much whiter populations and less immigration.

Clearly if CA's political changes were solely related to immigration they would not have happened in the other contiguous west coast states.

I think Republicans will win seats next year in California, New York, Massachusetts, and Illinois. America is so sick of winning that all of America will turn into a Trumpkin.

Keep it up!
