Smile I'm Looking for a Condo in California for under 250,000

I'm pretty much looking to start over fresh somewhere and I thought that California seemed nice. This message is here to look for any helpful advice into my decesion to moving.

I'm looking to live somewhat close to the beach (a 30 min drive is fine). Can I find a condo that is in decent condition for 180,000 to 250,000? Closer to 180K or 200K would be nice.

~Looking for the condo to be 2 bedroom as well.

~I would like to finish up my college AA degree and transfer to a university as well. Any decent school around? Nothing to high end but nothing trashy.

Any advice would be perfect!
Thanks

Did you check any real estate websites for what you are looking for?

I heard there were some colleges in the Los Angeles area. Maybe someone else will chime in and clear this up.

No beach, but instead of surfing we canoe the San Joaquin River.

my friend bought a 2 br condo in corona a couple of years ago for $250k. i doubt that it has gone up in value given our current housing market. that said, corona is about as close to the beach as you'll get with those prices, and you're looking at about a 45 minute to 1 hour drive. eastern san diego may be another option for you, possible even temecula, as they have the ortega highway that runs over the mountains to beach in maybe a 30 minutes. not sure of the prices in that area though. no universities in these areas either.

You can get a renovated 1BR condo near SDSU (San Diego) for that money.

realtor.com of course. ZIP 93455 will get you Orcutt. The ones on Rice Ranch Road are in a very nice area. About 45 min from CAL Poly SLO. and about 25 min from Pismo Beach. Oh yeah and about 15 minutes from Hancock Community College.

I like trulia.com for real estate.

As for colleges, it kind of depends on what you want to study. There are so many schools here in California, but they all have their different strengths. Do you have any thoughts on a major? (I'm thinking of when you get to the university level - there are community colleges all over).
