I'm seeing more on craigslist today than usual. Often, especially during ski season and summer vacation time, almost everything on craigslist is vacation rental.
It can be difficult to find an affordable place in the Truckee area for just one. If you don't see anything on craigslist it may be a good idea to head on up there and look in the papers. And the the bulletin board at New Moon Natural Foods occasionally has some good rentals.
It's in the same little "plaza" as the DMV.

Default I have a small home in Truckee for short/long term lease

Hi, I own a small home in Truckee. I am looking for the right tenant to rent it for either short term or long term-furnished or unfurnished. We are asking for $1600/mo utilities included. Let me know if I can send photos.

Default We have a truck-top camper and are looking for a place to put it

We'll be working at the ski resort for the winter. There are two of us with a dog. We have a truck-top camper. ( A camper on the back of a diesel pickup truck) We hope this will allow us more options than a fifth wheel.

Anybody have any details on an accessible road or national forest area to park? How about in the parking lot of the ski resort?

Anyone want to rent a driveway?

Thanks,

You are asking for a world of hurt. If a road or parking lot is plowed, it is illegal to park on it for any length of time. If it is not plowed you won't be able to use it, it will be full of snow. If you did get in on a road and Truckee gets a typical 5 foot storm, you won't get out until spring, unless of course you hire a loader to clear the road into you, at two bucks a minute.

The Ski Areas, or any other plowed area will tow you if you try to park over night, except with their permit. Which is only good for ticket buyers, and you must be totally self contained, that means toilet.

Your water systems will be frozen. If you attempt to keep the camper warm, carbon mono from from your iced over exhaust system will kill you.

No one will rent a driveway, because they need to keep it clear for snow removal.

Your idea is just plain bad. Don't try it.
