Need the 411 on Guadalupe, CA???
I'm hoping some people can give me some info on Guadalupe. Their website barely says the name of the city(not much info). I'm married with children, looking at a job in the area, and need the 411. Come on all you locals, give it up!

Do you speak Spanish? I think it will come in very handy in Guadalupe. This is a one-street town near the coast, but not on it, where the post office is probably the biggest thrill in town.
A picture is worth a thousand words? In this case, several is more like it.

Maybe you should check it out in person before taking a job there.

Yeah, I think so. Santa Maria's not that big, but at least its more of a city than Guadalupe. I've heard the south end of Santa Maria is better than the north end. Look south of Betteravia Rd. and into an area called Orcutt. To the north, look in Nipomo. Its just over the river into San Luis Obispo county. There was a huge Santa Maria/Central Coast thread a few months ago. I'm sure it'll come up if you search the site for it. In the end, no one but you can decide what area suits you best. The Internet will only take you so far and nothing beats boots on the ground when deciding where to move.

I hear you! I'm heading out there Thursday(3rd). I'm supposed to meet with my possible future co-workers and bosses. I plan on taking the oppurtunity to evaluate many aspects of the area. I'm going to spend time in Guadalupe and in Santa Maria. I guess I'll see what I see. Thanks for the insight.

Live in Santa Maria and drive to work. Guadalupe is a farm area with mostly immigrant labor living there. They do, however, have the best streak house in the world. Make sure your prospective boss takes you there to eat. I don't remember the name, but with only a few building in town, the boss will know..!
