I have a confession to make. I find the details of ballots, measures, and initiatives too tedious to read. So I read what the LA Times endorses and I vote the other way. Whatever your method, it is important to vote. If I believed that voters don't count anymore, the recall of Josh Newman certainly changed my mind. We have given up so many things to special interests. Let's not give them our vote by not voting.

You vote the opposite of whom the LA Times endorses. That awesome and sage advice!

It doesn't take long to read the ballot summaries & decide on it.

Please DON'T vote. The men and women who gave their lives to defend your freedom deserve better.

Was America invaded by another country and many soldiers gave their lives defending it? I don't think my freedom to vote depends on the US invading and occupying countries thousands of miles away. Sure I appreciate the fact that they do it for trades and political interests overseas. But protecting my freedom has nothing to do with it.

I can't believe these days and age people still believe that, "We are killing little huts people in some poor country thousands of miles away to protect freedom and democracy so Americans can sleep at night." BS.

No thank you. I definitely have to vote now because you told me not to.

You know, I am reasonably sure that if I did as the op did I would still be voting the same way as I did, so thanks for the tip op!

Voting opposite of what the Times endorses is sound voting strategy for sure.

That would probably work for the San Jose Mercury News, too.

I have severe news burnout. I voted for the issues and candidates I liked or knew or cared about, and just left the rest blank. I'd rather not vote than vote in an uneducated manner.

Normally I do a ton of research on every issue, but I am taking a mental health break from the news right now. I just can't take the daily hysteria anymore - not right now. And fortunately, there are plenty of advocates out there who have the energy, and don't need me.
