We tried to discuss this earlier on this thread, but max told us that it had nothing to do with Prop 6.

Almost 1/2 is spent on something else. Why?

In effect an amount equal to about 1/2 of what is spent on roads goes to:

"Enforcement and Regulation"??? Oh that helps fill pot holes

"Local law enforcement general fund, Dept of food and agriculture and ....parks and recreation". Oh that really helps fix the roads doesn't it and what is it actually spent on in those areas? Who gets the money when it is spent in those depts?

Then how much goes to public transportation that does nothing to fix pot holes?
I wonder how much of that is code for pensions.

The lies don't stop apparently, even putting words in my mouth.

Vote Yes on 6 and repeal another tax. Demand accountability of our politicians, there is none now.

Sure it does. You know exactly what I'm talking about, so don't start introducing a bunch of passive aggressive taunts like, "You can keep writing the government checks on your own and let them mishandle your personal money, keep the rest of us out of it."

This is a discussion forum. "Keep the rest of us out of it"? If you want out of it, stop reading.

Vote NO on 6.
Agreed.

"It’s hard to overstate how destructive Proposition 6 would be for California. It would eliminate $5 billion a year from the state budget, wiping out funds that could be used to fill potholes on local streets, smooth highways and stabilize bridges. It would cancel funding for highway and rail projects designed to move cargo more cleanly and efficiently, hurting the state’s vital freight industry. It would slash money for light rail lines and commuter rail service, meaning fewer trains for people trying to get to work.

And for what? Sure, you might save $1.50 every time you fill up your sedan. But you’ll spend a lot more repairing tires, alignment, shocks and other parts caused by driving on potholed and damaged roads. The jobs created by maintaining and building roads and transit will be lost, as will the efficiency gained through better transportation systems. California’s infrastructure — once the envy of the U.S. — will further deteriorate; traffic will continue to increase."

I prefer politicians be held accountable before they write themselves another blank check. The money has been spent with nothing to show for it.
