Actually, money is not really an issue for me, and I will move from abroad in another month or so and chose Tiburon, Ca, in Marin County.
Just a 15-20 minute ferry ride to San Francisco, or a 15-20 minute drive across the Golden Gate bridge. The views are hard to beat. The location is close to the wine country and not that far from Tahoe and southern Marin itself is a wonderful place not just because of nature and the views but because the people are friendly and interesting. Strangely they are rich and liberal which I thought was an oxymoron. My wife is a gourmet that lives to eat and this part of the country will not let her down. Most of all the public schools are excellent, one of the best in the Reed School District there in Tiburon.
Please advise me is there are any nice public school districts in the Carmel area? Even though I have heard bad things about the people Southern California, I am curious if there are excellent public schools in the Montecito area? I can afford private easily but it is not always a guarantee to get in to the best ones. Demand exceeds supply in expensive areas, even in good school districts like Tiburon. I am also interested in Rancho Sante Fe and La Jolla, but afraid the amount of premier restaurants is not on par with the San Francisco area (Marin is between wine country and San Francisco so many to choose from). Please advise.
