The state sued Huntington Beach Friday for violating state law winch requires growing communities to set aside land for new homes. Huntington Beach wouldn't have been my first choice, but it looks like it won't be the last city.

I didn't know this was even a law, I'm glad to see it's finally being enforced though, hopefully

Many of us need to support Huntington Beach with its legal
Costs. To hell with California’s push to take away the rights of cities to plan and control their cities in the best interest of residents.

I understand your concern, but it's been state law for years. Huntington Beach has more power than most cities, and they still can't follow the law. They already have 200k people it will never be a small town again.

People in the HB forums are pissed off. Is this because HB is still very conservative?? I don't know but this makes no sense. HB is built out there's no empty lots anywhere. Does he want them built on the wet lands?? Recently they built 2000 apartments by Bella Terra. The rent is still sky high. And traffic is horrible there.

This is retribution for HB fighting the insidious drug "rehab" homes, combined with a much belated "F-You" because it used to have a white-power population issue. This has made HB hated among the elite.

As I've said before, I would support a ban on new single family homes in large cities, over 50k residents. It should have to be dense, multistory, multifamily buildings. Density is the future.

Not enough local jobs for those who work and the commute with that many people in that area would make traffic far worse than now. No acceptable transportation alternatives and not enough money to build such in any reasonable time frame. No more building, no worse crowding.
