Post San Luis Obispo and Dalidio Ranch....

I think it's time old Ernie Dalidio sold his project to some other developer. Who agrees?

There's only 5 department stores that can go in that project:

Target, Lowe's, JcPenney's, Macy's, and Dillards

If Lowe's leaves, then Dalidio will probably bring in JcPenney's. My main concern on Dalidio is all he does in his project is to save money.

Won't pay for all of the interchange....(let's city pay)
Won't pay for traffic congestion....(let's taxpayers pay)
Builds power center full of big-box stores....(gets more than mall)
Wants to build 2 business parks, housing, & other amenities...(make more $)

If he sells, a good chance we can get some one from southern or northern california to buy the land, pay for all of the interchange, get a good lawyer to kill all the lawsuits, and build just a shopping center with stores people won't. We don't need a Lowe's or JcPenney's in San Luis Obispo.

Well, you are right. There is no problem. Macy's and Target is what I would like to see in SLO. But if we get Macy's and JcPenney's, I won't complain. San Luis Obispo at 50,000 population with more families and a mall is all it needs. If we got a mall in SLO, i wouldnt care about any another shopping center proposed.

In the lastest article in the Trib, it stated Target and Lowe's were touting in the project. That means they won't be in Dalidio's project much longer, if Dalidio sells then they have no obligation to stay in SLO.

BTW, all we need is the Margaritta and Orcutt Road projects built out in 2020 to have 50,000 ppl in SLO. Orcut road had 800 houses, and margarita has 500. Then you have the downtown developments and airport road bringing a good amount of homes.

And one last thing, some LA developer im sure is gonna buy Dalidio's land. He will put all the money into the interchange and traffic, and bring in some good lawyer to fight off any lawsuit. Then he builds his mall in SLO, reeks in big bucks from the new families and colleges students in SLO. it's a fairly simple plan. i dont expect this to happen until 2020 though.

Who else here feels San Luis Obispo needs the 50,000 population and regional open-air mall w/ Macy's and JcPenney's in Dalidio's land by 2020?
