You would sure think the people would finally get fed up but it sure is slow. Maybe we could at least get less than 2/3rd Democrats in the legislature.

A politician who will offer free higher education, free healthcare, and free housing in California will always win.

I heard that 70% of young people in California favor socialism.

Plus, Bill Clinton won California in 1992, but I don’t know if that was due to Ross Perot.
There is no getting around it: Ross Perot did influence the election more than many realize.

That is because they really do not understand it. Heck think about it: i would probably loved to go to college free, have someone give me a monthly check for doing nothing, give we free medical care, etc. I would have loved it more when I was paying for our kids education but I have always leaned to the right and have never expected the government to support me. Loving in life is totally free

Are you referring to Yang’s proposed “Freedom Dividend”? If so, you completely do not understand it. Nor that it was first officially proposed by the Nixon administration where it passed in the House but not quite in the Senate. (That was in the 1970’s, of course.). Neither are you aware of how many conservative (and Libertarian) leaning economists have endorsed the theory since many generations back.

It’s not “for doing nothing” either. It’s for being an American in the world’s strongest economy, and the value of each person’s personal data, which data is, has been, will continue to be collected and used by all manner of industry profiting from that data.

Furthermore, though running as a Democrat, Yang isn’t even remotely a socialist. He is gaining a huge complimentary reputation even from the right for his non-ideologically based positions ... and his ability to appeal widely across voter demographics, including Trump voters.

The Govt does not pay for it, everyone does through much higher taxes. It isn't free. Mind you it is not bad in the Countries that have it, but their taxes are wayyyyy higher than here and then their sales tax (VAT) is also very large Nothing is free. With the tax in the UK, or say Denmark, CA would have a lot of people who could not afford to live there.

Yeah, it's literally for doing nothing except being born.

"Huge complimentary reputation".

Yang is polling regularly at 2% (slightly ahead of powerhouses like Spartacus Booker) except in certain far left enclaves like Portland, or San Francisco. His extremely weak platform of "I'm going to give you free money" isn't convincing any political block except the unemployed basement dweller demographic.

Your complete lack of understanding is no surprise either.

By the way, speaking of getting something for nothing other than being born - um, that’s the definition of citizenship in this country. Lots of un-earned benefit for being born here.

As also usual, you fail to distinguish between “reputation” and ranked choice positioning. If you followed reporting and surveys with any discerning analytical ability, you’d see what I refer to. While not (yet) the first choice of many, the recently completely unknown Yang has very little negative review ... and a lot of positive. Which has, you might notice, resulted in him going from unknown zero a few months ago to tied for about 6th position among over 20 candidates, including senators and governors with significant name recognition. He also ranks 5th in fundraising, including raising more than 1st/2nd position Biden in the last 2 quarters (and all from grass-roots supporters), and having more cash on hand.

Almost no one, including the other Democratic candidates, has been criticizing Yang (yet).

So yeah: “huge complimentary reputation” so far. Quite remarkable. Certainly high on my short list.
