Vafb Companies (Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, Goleta: relocate, job, closing)

Could anyone tell me other then Boeing what companies are actively hiring for Engineers of all kids on VAFB?

My husband currently works for Boeing and would like to stay with the same company, but we are very open if the right offer is made... WE are looking to relocate ASAP to the California area preferably the VAFB area if we can....

If you have any ideas or information that you could pass along I would greatly appreciate it.

I am an engineer that recently moved out of the VAFB area. I can't really say who is hiring, but I can provide a shopping list of companies that have a presence in the area. I worked as an engineer for ITT Systems, which has a sustainment contract out there that employs close to a hundred engineers. You can also look at InDyne who has a pretty big operations contract. Northrop has a small presence there. You can also check out United Launch Alliance (ULA). Lockheed has a Santa Maria facility, but there were rumors that it was closing down. The 30th Space Wing also has civilian engineering positions, but like any federal job it can take a while to get hired.

If you are willing to commute to Santa Barbara/Goleta (about 45 minutes from Lompoc), there are several engineering opportunities with smaller firms down there. There are also a few bigger players including Raytheon.
