Hi, I wanted to give some insight into Inland Mendocino County. Willits has a great new hospital. Houses for $300,000 are not out of the ordinary there. Ukiah is a bit pricier. Fires are an issue, as is the price of insurance. Regarding Humboldt County, Ferndale is notorious for flooding like nobody's business. Fortuna may be the better choice, but as others have said the Mad River Hospital is not known for being excellent. It is pretty remote so mudslides etc can cut the whole area off at times in the winter. Still, these are all amazing places. Humboldt County is colder than Mendocino overall.
