Default Climate in Chico?

My husband and I are relocating to California in June, and are trying to decide where to settle. Chico looks like a great town, but I'm concerned about the winter weather. Is it gray and gloomy? Does it rain a lot? (meaning for more than a day or so at a time) Being that we won't be able to experience the winter climate before we move, any honest feedback would be great, as well as any other pros/cons.

Thanks!

Yes it does rain, often times many days in a row during the winter (summers are hot). Not so much gray though. Most of the time when it's not raining, it's clear out and wicked cold. It's not as bad as Red Bluff, but compared to Sac and down in the valley, it's significant.

The summer is hot and humid, the fall is breezy and pleasant, the winter is cool and wet, and the spring is warm and pleasant. It gets down to freezing perhaps two or three days out of the year. It might snow once every few years, although it rarely sticks. I lived there for twenty years and only saw it snow and stick twice.
