I'm considering moving to Long Beach, Belmont shore area. But I'd have to drive my daughter to and from school to San Pedro and back again. The route would be through the Wilmington area mostly on Anaheim Street West/East. Is that a safe route? And how is the traffic in the mornings and later afternoons. Her school starts at 8 a.m.

I'd appreciate any info on this.

Wouldn't Ocean Blvd be more direct?

you could take ocean, but you'll have a heck of a lot of traffic(commercial and otherwise) and the vincent thomas bridge gets jammed up a lot too

anaheim will take you through fine i think. trafficwise should be less than ocean, but will still have a decent amount of traffic volume. depending on where you need to go you can just hop on gaffey or palos verdes N to western to go down into san pedro proper

taking anaheim itself through long beach will be safe enough. lots of street lights, but otherwise shouldnt be too bad.

I agree - the Anaheim Street route would be better than Ocean.
