My partner and I, both in our thirties and well-educated, recently moved to Sonoma, and we've discovered that we've chosen the wrong place. We love Sonoma County, but the town of Sonoma is significantly older and wealthier than we expected. We're wondering if anyone can give us some advice on a community in Sonoma County that contains plenty of people in their 20s/30s/40s, families with kids, and still maintains a nice small-town feel. We're hoping to start a family soon, so we want to live in an area that is friendly to lesbians and contains a number of "non-traditional" families. We're doing our own research, of course, but it would be interesting to hear what others have to say.
Thanks! |

Guerneville and maybe Sebastopol. If you can afford the town of Sonoma then you can afford these places too.

Isn't Guerneville kind of a gay men's party/leisure place though? Is it really a family community? Or a place where women would feel comfortable?

Sebastopol is a great little town. I find that people are very open minded there.
