Default California a disasterous state

I have been gone for 2 years now and feel great. I live in a state now full of promise, full of energy, excitement, kind of how California was back in the mid 70s. I have warned family and friend alike, Ca. is headed down a path in which 15- to 20 years from now it will be like a third world country. The political decisions as well as immigration and foolish mortaging of the debt, will come to destroy this once great state. The tax base is being replaced, people with small buisnesses as well as professionals are leaving in droves and are being replaced by illegals as well as poorly educated natives. The us census bureau came out with the numbers last week, please heed this advice for your family and future generations.

Okay I have seen a decline in CA in the last 25 years...but third world country? Ummmm that might be a bit extreme.

May I ask what state you are in now?

I think Caifornia is now
a third world country. We moved from SoCal to the mid west last May. And so glad to be out of the pits of California for all the reasons you said.

When all the hard working tax payers are gone what will be left??

What census are you referring to? The US Census isn't until 2010.

Yes, I'm also wondering where the wonderful state is (not saying that the state isn't wonderful) - there's a lot of great places to live, especially if one is looking for a change. I'm glad that the original poster found a new place that feels right.

To the original poster: Did you "cash out" when you left CA (as some have done), and buy a house with cash outright? I know that that would make someone feel good, vs. having a mortgage or having to pay rent.

I wish you the best.

Based on the forum's "search" function, that "wonderful state" appears to be North Carolina.
