Hi, I'm a 21 year old girl, and I live in England at the moment. However, I really want to get away for a while to somewhere totally new. I moved to London for a while, which I love! But you still end up always bumping into the same people.....probably because half of the people from my town/school/college ended up moving there too!! So I really want to be somewhere totally new!!
I'd really like to come and live in california for like 6 months, and maybe just get a bar/waitress job to help me with money while I am there. Does anyone have any advice on which towns would be best for a girl my age? I would like somewhere near the beach, where it is quite lively...good nightlife etc! Any advice that anyone has at all about this I would be really grateful of!!
Thanks!

You cannot work in the US without a visa. You can only get a work visa if you marry an american citizen, or get hired by someone who will sponsor you. you can only get hired to work with a sponsor if it is a legitimate job that needs to be filled, i.e. nursing. A visa also takes a long time to get, and there are quotas for immigants to come into this country. you would never get a visa to be a waitress. you can either go to uni, get a degree, and try to find a company who will sponsor you with a visa, or you can marry an American. Sorry it ain't that easy. You can come to USA on a visitor's visa, but your cannot work. Also it expires, I believe in 6 months, and you then have to leave.

Provided you get here, I think you'd seriously love coastal Orange County. Huntington, Newport, Laguna, Dana Point, etc. Day life, night life, the works.
