Default Emigrating to CA from the UK????

Hello all,

Im new to this forum!!

I am from Scotland, UK and have been thinking for a long time about moving out to California, but i just dont know how difficult it may be to find a job or what the implications may be!

Has anyone done this from the UK?

Im sorry to be so vague and without much knowledge, but im desperate to get away from here......!!

Have you ever been to California? You should be aware of all the differences (cultural, economic, lifestyle, etc.) before contemplating such a move.

Most places you will need a car to get around. Gas prices aren't nearly as much as petrol in the UK, but we just drive more. You can avoid this by living in a big city (Europeans seem to always love San Francisco), but you'll need a high-paying job to enjoy the amenities of any of CA's big cities (and to afford housing).

There's a lot to consider in getting a job. It all depends on what type of job you're qualified for. Ayava's link is helpful for visa issues, but look into the job market in your field.
