Arnold didn't care until the fire took a turn towards the weathier coastal areas. That's why it took him so long ...
He's not going to let Clint Eastwood and the other millionaires' homes burn ...

And where would those homes be?
Went to Sonoma County today and the smoke wasn't nearly as bad as it is in Lake County. Was hard to come home after being able to spend some much needed time outdoors today.

Hope you can give us another Lake County update, I need to take care of some business Monday near Konocti Harbor but after going up the day the Walker Fire started am worrying about a repeat of that experience, horribly smoky, headache for days after. Thank you for any info!

All the fires still burning, and here I am sitting in my apartment in South San Francisco hearing fireworks go off every 15 minutes. What a bunch of stains.

I did just read that the Walker fire is 85% contained! Great news. I'll try to update tomorrow. The smoke is still hovering and supposed to be really bad for you at this point, so don't come if you don't have to. Now keep your fingers crossed that the lightening they are expecting doesn't do anymore damage.
We are getting smoke from the Mendo fires too, and I have no idea how many of those are out or what percentage are contained.

Thank you for that. I thought we were breathing Wildfire smoke from Napa when we went up last week, as Walker was just starting, couldn't even see the lake, it was BAD!
As for the fireworks, ditto Sonoma County, I read a bunch of "nonprofit" organizations had already set up their sales booths and were actively selling fireworks, HELLO!!! What are these people thinking???

So, the smoke is still thick this morning but the Walker fire is now 90% contained. Now that Bush has declared a state of emergency maybe they will get the Mendo fires under control.
Fireworks? I don't know, the only ones I've heard are cancelled are in Hidden Valley Lk. The Sonoma County fireworks are still planned to go, Clearlake, and even Napa are still planning their shows. Banning fireworks in Sonoma County never stopped the people from doing them anyway.

No kidding! I guess it just raises the price! Hopefully though people will be prudent in their use of them.

Sorry had emergency yesterday and couldn't get on. Yesterday was beautiful here and clear! Today it is a little hazy again, but it is fine. Hot air balloons lifted off so it can't be that bad.
