Thank you Calif, it's all clear in Sonoma Valley. We skipped Lake County yesterday, will keep checking in here for updates, the news hasn't been doing the best of jobs, too much to keep up with I guess.

I agree with you that the news isn't informative enough. When the Santa Cruz fires were going on there was a ton of coverage. Now not much.
I have all my windows open right now and am about to close them as I just started to smell smoke. It isn't bad here though, I can see the mountains today. It's just a touch hazy.

It must be from the Mendo fires. I heard the Walker fire was 100 percent contained. We are fine, just staying in most of the day again. It is NO where near as bad as it was.
I was wondering if the lightening storms we were supposed to get ever developed. Never heard anything.

That's a crock!
BTW you might be interested to know that Mr. Eastwood purchased a lot of land all along the Big Sur coast to Carmel in order to preserve it for future generations, never to be developed.

here in Sonoma it was bad but not as bad as before. Very hazy, but either I'm used to the smell of smoke or it doesn't smell.

I feel badly for the firefighters, it was 115 here today! 105 in the shade.
I can still smell the smoke but it isn't burning my throat as much as it was.

115, windy too? It was hot and windy here, doesn't bode well.

The smoke has returned to Sacramento as well. Tomorrow it's supposed to be over 110 here, but in Redding I heard from family that its expected to get close to 120. They are saying its supposed to be the hottest day of the year so far.. Plus those two big fires to the west in Shasta county are going to make the air unbearable. It looks like I won't be camping at Whiskeytown Lake at the end of this month...hopefully things will change by then, because I wouldn't mind being one of their first patrons to return to Oak Bottom area. These fires have probably really hurt their business...
