Default Carmel - 17 Mile Drive Pics

After visiting the awesome Monterey Bay Aquarium, we took a little drive down to Carmel. Hope you enjoy the pics. It was a bit foggy, but still nice. Prayers to those just south of there.

Yes very nice, but... still reminds me of just about anywhere along the coastline of the UK.
Different trees but trees is trees.

How's Big Sur? We were supposed to stay at the Ripplewood and when we called to cancel our reservations (80 hrs in advance) there was no answer so we had to do it online. We were watching the news up in NoCal and the wife saw them spraying our place with fire retardant. They finally did get ahold of us via email to verify the cancellation.

We would have liked to head down there from Carmel but the 1 was blocked except for local traffic. Any word on the progress of the Santa Barbara fire?

Does anyone know if the 1 is opened back up in Big Sur now? The CalTran website doesn't show it being closed, but their site isn't very good for searching for closures...
