Recent College grad thinking of moving in the LA area (Long Beach: apartments, houses)

I'm a 22 years old single girl currently living in NY. I graduated a couple of months ago and I'm hoping to find a job in the LA area. My degree is in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance/Management and a minor in psychology. I'm looking for something in Human resources and hoping to get paid a minimum of $40,000 a year. And I would like to pay no more than $1000 for a 1bedroom in a fun and safe area. Just looking for opinions on this move(regarding job market/apartments).

you may find a job paying that much, but $1000 is not going to get you a 1 br in a fun area in LA proper. However, you may consider Long Beach, rents are cheaper there and there is still plenty of things going on for twenty somethings. Ultimately, you'll need to find a home near where you find work, commuting in socal can be hell. some people decided to go the roomate route. good luck!

Yeah $1000/month isn't going to happen in a good LA area. There are some okay areas of the San Fernando valley where you can find something in that range though, but they aren't particularly fun/hip etc.

Agoura Hills and Calabasas is a fun n hip area for ppl in their 20s. One of my old supervisors is from that area and she is around that age range and she loved it there, and said they had some good night clubs.

I think posting in the LA thread would be a better place for this thread.

Huh? These areas are mainly track houses and businesses. There is much more night life in the valley then these cities.
