I LOVE the thunderstorms out here! In fact, we've had a couple of good ones this week Right now I see lightning in the distance but not sure if it will hit here. And I like the humid/warm nights!

I've only been to Orlando, I actually wouldn't mind living in Florida if it wasn't for the extremely unpleasant humidity and the fact that mosquitoes over there seemed far too attracted to me.

Florida (South) is extremely corrupt and an awful place to live. People are rude, cutthroat and shallow. Low-paying jobs.

I have heard that the west side of FL is nicer, although I've never been. Jupiter, FL isn't bad.

California is expensive as all get out, but the people are quite nice, the weather is great, and the jobs are pretty high-paying.

I've lived in both!

I've lived in California for my entire life, but have visited Florida before, driving from Ft. Lauderdale up the Atlantic coast to Jacksonville, then west to New Orleans, then back down the Gulf coast through Tampa. My favorite part of Florida was the Keys and Tampa/St. Petersburg. My general sentiment of the state was that it reminded me of Vegas- slightly seedy and dirty, as if you didn't really want to touch anything because of where it's been. Driving was a different experience in Florida- I've never seen so many highway markers before! What do I think of Florida- Loads of old people, humidity, people in gaudy tropical shirts, extremely touristy, and I also felt a bit of hostility and staring, especially in Pensacola (I'm Asian) and didn't feel comfortable at all. Of course, LA isn't paradise either, but I guess it's what I'm used to.

My opinion.. Not trying to bash Florida.. But I'm used to mountains and hills and so much more diversity. With all different types of people, religions, cultures.. so on. Also, I complain about summer here as it is since i live in the valley and it tends to get hotter.. and having humidity.. We had a day like that here once.. I felt like I couldn't breathe.
Oh and what I've heard about the "palmetto" bugs... I'm going NOWHERE NEARRR Florida, if it really has huggge bugs. [terrified of them], But if Flordia wasn't so humid and didn't have big bugs I would DEFFINETELY visit at least for a week or two. It's just for some people and not for others.

Yeah, that's boring. I love the mountains (and the desert - Florida is sadly lacking in both.). And I absolutely loathe humidity. One nice aspect of California weather is that you can usually find better/different weather by driving an hour or less (inland, to the coast, to the mountains, to the desert, ect.).

Loved visiting the Everglades, though. And Key West looks like it must've been a beautiful, fantastic place before it got all the uber-touristy kitsch (the Hard Rock Cafe pretty much symbolizes it's demise). I bet it was grand when Hemingway was in residence!
