what do californians think of florida
I was wondering what Californians think of Florida overall?
What cities/areas would you live in in Florida if you living here and why?

Personally I always thought Fl to be too much like Ca, I guess the weather and beaches because I had never been there till recently, which it's not really like Ca except for having beaches and weather,lol...
When we were deciding where to move to when we were leaving Ca, Florida was not in the running because I thought it would be too similar. I wanted a big change.
On the other hand, I think you people in Florida are big copy cats with your Disney and Sea World and Universal
Other than that, I never really thought of Florida, oh, except for also thinking it was probably like Golden Girls

OK well I moved to Florida after living in the LA area for 5 years and I have to say there are a lot of things about CA I miss. The main thing for me is actually the laid back vibe of the people. People in CA (at least where I lived) had good mannors and did not stare and just generally had a good vibe. Florida has a lot of uptight/nervous people compared to CA. I think people respect/like sarcastic people who look like they don't give a sh*t about being polite. Totally unlike CA. The typical CA guy who is nice just behaving in the CA usual culture/style here in certain FL places would be looked at like he's some kind of wuss. This is kind of why I was hoping to get some responses on areas where CA people would live in FL if they had to live here. Because I have not been to every single place in FL.

Nothing at all. Never been there. Live? I suppose along the Atlantic side. I;m assuming he coast is nicer there than along the Gulf? But, like I said, wouldn't have a clue.

Im not from US, but have been to many places in Florida.
Moved over last year, but unfortunately due to cicumstances had to move back to UK right away, am now fighting hard to get back again.
I disagree with the unpoliteness, but that may be because I am from UK, where all you here these days is 'f*** this and f*** that as you walk around the streets.
The good manners and politeness of the people we have met is one of the main reasons I love Florida!
Personally, I like the west coast. Not the touristy areas around Clearwater and Tampa way, but a little higher up, Spring Hill or Hudson where it is more US residential. Although it is quiter here and not much to do.

Both coasts of Florida are nice. Some areas are very touristy, some not. The sands are nice and white. The gulf has warmer, and prettier, water than the Atlantic.
When I think of Florida, I think of high humidity, mosquitoes, a short rain shower every afternoon (saves on sprinklers), lots of tourists, very lush vegetation, and pine trees.
